Hey all I will work my way backwards on what we have done. Temperatures have been about 25-30 degrees everyday. Feels like 40 sometimes!
Today: We went white water rafting. It was a class II-IV river, which is about moderate level. It was a lot of fun and great views. We saw a lot of squirrel monkeys in one spot. We were with some crazy couple and toppled right off the start. Devin never fell out but I had to get in the Universal Raft Position and flow down the river. I stopped on a rock and they picked me up. The man in the crazy couple fell out again after lunch. His wife continuously freaked out the whole trip. I think she was bipolar. One minute she loved it the next she was swearing and wanting to quit. Another down side to the trip would be my burn. My legs are very very red and sore. I hope they will be better in the morning.
Wednesday: We went to Corcovado National Park. It involved a boat ride through the mangroves, the ocean, and then a hike through the park and on the beach. We saw black rays in the ocean. We saw birds, spiders, ants, racoons type animals fighting, and caimans (small type crocodiles). The best birds were the flock of scarlet macaws on the beach. Those are the big red, blue, and yellow looking parrots. We had another crazy family with us on that tour.
Tuesday: We got dropped off at the beach while Tony and Linda went into town. They were supposed to come get us two hours later. When Linda came she could not see us on the beach. They went on a hunt along the coast for us. We were sitting in the trees the whole time where we were supposed to get picked up. Five hours after we were dropped off Tony found us. We were happy to get home!
Monday: Tim, ziplining is going in a harness hooked to a cable from platform to platform through the trees. It was fun but I could not figure out how to work the handbrake. On the second platform I tried to use it and did not succeed so the guide had to jump off the platform on the cable. I hit him then we both hit the tree. Once I figured it out things were fine. Once again, we had an overly optimistic family along.
